MCU Psi Chi Chapter History (2015 - 2022)
Due to the global pandemic, our Psi Chi 2020 induction was postponed in April 2020. A virtual induction ceremony was held for both 2020 and 2021 in April 2021.

Dear Mariners,
It is with a heavy heart that I write this entry in our Psi Chi MCU Chapter page. Marymount California University’s board voted to close the university on August 31, 2022. Along with all the students and staff members, the faculty heard the news of the university closure. I wanted to thank you Psi Chi members and Psi Chi leadership at Marymount. You’ve made each year memorable in our pursuit to understand the human psyche. I hope that each and every one of you carry on this interest, be it in law or counseling, and that you’ll use psychology to help others. I am honored to be your Psi Chi faculty advisor for the last six years. Thank you and I wish you all the best.

How to Join MCU Psi Chi Chapter
MCU Psi Chapter is part of the larger international honor society in psychology (Psi Chi’s headquarter’s homepage). The benefits of joining include being part of an international honor society, recognition, networking that includes job posting and skills training, and the most widely recognized psychology society in the world.
Requirements for Joining
- Overall GPA in the top 35% of your class (3.0 and above)
- 60 or more total college units completed (Overall Units completed)
- 9 or more units in psychology courses completed at MCU (note this change from our changes in unit from 3 units to 4 units in 2018)
- Dr. K will typically send out invitations based on GPA in October/November but if you feel that you qualify, you can contact him directly so that he can check (and make sure you’re included!)
